Panasonic 3D TV & Blu-ray for $2,899
Panasonic formally announced this morning that it is offering a 3D home theater system exclusively at Best Buy via Magnolia Home Theater for $2,899.99 beginning today.

Samsung brings “Shrek” to 3D Blu-ray

As Samsung and Panasonic prepare major media announcements in New York on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, about their 3D products hitting stores this month, reports have begun to surface that Samsung’s 3D Blu-ray players already in Best Buy stores do not work.

Sony has unveiled its first Blu-ray 3D player and it is priced at only $200.
At this moment the BDP-S470 is only “3D-ready,” like the PlayStation 3, but it is the first stand-alone player designed to accept a 3D firmware upgrade to be available this summer.

Within three years revenue from Blu-ray players will exceed DVD players, according to Scottsdale, Ariz.-based In-Stat.
