Panasonic formally announced this morning that it is offering a 3D home theater system exclusively at Best Buy via Magnolia Home Theater for $2,899.99 beginning today.

Sony has unveiled its first Blu-ray 3D player and it is priced at only $200.
At this moment the BDP-S470 is only “3D-ready,” like the PlayStation 3, but it is the first stand-alone player designed to accept a 3D firmware upgrade to be available this summer.

Within three years revenue from Blu-ray players will exceed DVD players, according to Scottsdale, Ariz.-based In-Stat.
