World Cup final four in 3D theaters

If you haven’t bought your 3DTV yet or don’t have DirecTV, Comcast, or AT&T U-verse and are anxious to see World Cup football/soccer games in 3D, the semi-finals as well as the matches for third place and champion will be telecast live in 3D at movie theaters in 15 U.S. cities for the first time on July 6, 7, 10, and 11 by FIFA and NCM Fathom.

NCM Fathom, a theater events division of in-theater advertising and online, mobile media company National CineMedia, will add 3-D elements exclusive to those attending the four matches in participating U.S. movie theaters such as select theaters of AMC Entertainment Inc., Cinemark Holidings, Inc. and Regal Entertainment Group in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Denver, Miami, Kansas City, and San Antonio.

“We’re excited to introduce an unrivaled experience for this year’s games – shown larger-than-life on 40-foot screens, in the best movie theaters and biggest markets in the country,” said Dan Diamond, vice president of NCM Fathom.
