Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” is the latest major release to shift to 3D.
The studio announced late today that the movie would be released in Disney Digital 3D and still stick to its May 20, 2011 release date.
The movie was announced with great fanfare and a surprise appearance by Johnny Depp at last September’s four-day D23 Expo.
More recently it was announced that “Chicago” and “Memoirs of a Geisha” director Rob Marshall would be taking over the helm, replacing Gore Verbinski, who helmed the original trilogy.
