Universal Studio’s “Oblivion,” playing on IMAX screens for a second weekend, collected another $17.4 million the weekend of April 26-28, for a cumulative total at domestic theaters of $64.7 mil. and nearly $200 mil. globally.
Meanwhile, three 3D movies remained in the top 10, led by Fox’s “The Croods,” with another $6.6 mil. to raise its second-best total of the year in the U.S. to $163 mil., and a whopping $469 mil. worldwide, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. Paramount’s “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” added $3.6 mil. to its furth-highest total of the year that now stands at $116.4 mil. domestically and $349 mil. globally, and the converted “Jurassic Park” pulled in another $2.3 mil. in its fourth weekend even as the “Jurassic Park” Blu-ray 3D version was released. The theatrical edition is now at a total of $42 mil. to date in North America alone and $6.7 mil. overseas (nearly $406 mil. cumulatively since its initial release in 1993).
Ranking 13th, Disney’s “Oz: The Great and Powerful” is still adding to its year-leading total after two months in release, with $1.7 mil. raising its cumulative North American tally to $226 mil., and global total to $481 mil.
