Emmy for Panasonic’s 3D U.S. Open

The 3D production of the U.S. Open by CBS and sponsored and made possible by Panasonic won a Sports Emmy tonight for Technical Achievement in Sports.

In addition to the CBS crew, Panasonic CTO Eisuke Tsuyusaki and Frank Hawkins of Scalar Media were credited in the announcement from New York.

Meanwhile, ESPN won seven sports Emmys, including three for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The awards were presented for the 32nd year by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
