Expanded “Tron” scenes on IMAX screens

Moviegoers will literally see more of “Tron: Legacy” on IMAX 3D screens than traditional theaters.

IMAX and Walt Disney Studios announced today that 43-minutes of selected scenes in the movie, including seven sequences on “The Grid” where the disc battles and light cycle chases take place, are expanded and specifically designed to capitalize on the larger dimensions of IMAX screens.

“Tron,” which debuts Friday, Dec. 17, will open on 234 IMAX 3D screens domestically and on at least 101 IMAX screens internationally, 55 of which will open next Friday, with the other runs debuting over the following weeks.
