Writer-Director M. Night Shyamalan and Sony Pictures Technologies president Chris Cookson have been added as keynote speakers at the third annual 3D Entertainment Summit Sept. 15-16 at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City, CA.
“We look forward to hisinsights into the immersive narrative possibilities of 3D,” said show organizer and host Bob Dowling of Shyamalan, who most recently directed “The Last Airbender,” which was released this summer in 3D. Shyamalan wrote and directed “The Sixth Sense,” which was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay. Among his other successes are “Unbreakable” (2001) and “Signs” (2002).
Of Cookson, Dowling said, “Few executives can speak more authoritatively than Chris about the critical importance of company-wide integration of technology and creativity to maximize audience response to 3D in all its platforms.”
Shyamalan and Cookson join DreamWorks Animation SKG CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg as keynote speakers at the 3D Entertainment Summit produced by the Bob Dowling Group and event management company Unicomm, LLC, and presented in association with Variety.
