It had to happen.
Playboy‘s June issue features a centerfold in 3D.
The magazine hits newstands on Friday with a pair of 3D glasses included for viewing Hope Dworaczyk in, er, full dimensionality.
Let the jokes begin about increasing in size from double-D to triple-D.
“What would people most like to see in 3-D?” Playboy founder Hugh Hefner asked the Associated Press. “Probably a naked lady.”
Hef said he’s not a big fan of 3-D but the magazine continues to seek ways to attract new and younger readers as its circulation has dropped by more than half from 3.5 million in 2006 to 1.5 million today.
Hefner said he first thought of using 3D when he launched his magazine in the 1950s.
“I actually signed a photographer to shoot two nude women in 3-D in Chicago,” he told AP in a phone interview. But he scrapped the idea when he discovered how expensive it would be to include the glasses.
This time HBO is helping defray costs by branding the 3D glasses with its series “True Blood.”

K – So…let me picture this…on Friday lots of guys with beer bellies, back acne and so forth will be sitting on their toilets with their pants around their knees wearing those dorky three D glasses, holding the magazine with one hand while they diddle themselves with the other hand. What a cultural event. Gee – they must be proud to be men instead of women. (Incidentally, if these men would prefer to just stay in the bathroom indefinitely and have pizza delivered there, I promise we won’t miss them.)
Keep porn in 2D……..While a naked woman in 3D does raise a curiousity-type intrest as a novelty,i really see no need for it and hope thiswill not be a trend setter. If it is the latter and not the former,we can expect movies to follow.Who want’s some guys slong protruding out of a magazine or a TV screen in your face? And not to mention what flies in the money shots.No……….You can keep it.
Besides, the color will be all askew with those magenta and kolbalt lenses.
