Dr. Frank-N-Furter will celebrate his 35th with the first Blu-ray Disc release of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Oct. 19 for $39.99.
It will be the first time the pioneering transvestite with a cult following at midnight screenings in the 1970s will be seen doing the “Time Warp” in a newly-restored HiDef transfer and heard in 7.1 audio. Fox is releasing the title starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, and Meatloaf, that still holds the title as the longest-running theatrical release in film history.
New exclusive Blu-ray extras include Rocky-oke: Sing It!; Picture-In-Picture Shadowcast Performance; Vintage Callback Track (Unrated); Prop Box; Shadowcasting documentary; plus photo galleries, deleted scenes, audio commentary, and interactive BD-LIVE: Live Lookup Powered by IMDb. A collectible 24-page book featuring photos by rock-and-roll photographer Mick Rock will be available for a limited time.
