Nvidia Corp. has partnered with San Francisco-based enterprise video management company Fordela Corp. to launch a web site for streaming HiDef 3D movies, music videos, game trailers, sports, shorts, and other content using Nvidia’s 3D Vision technology, Fordela announced today.
The site, www.3DVisionLive.com, will be in a “beta” testing mode for several weeks while the companies add features and functions to it.
Fordela said the site will use its video management platform, graphics chip maker Nvidia’s technology and Microsoft Corp.’s Silverlight video player to bring high-definition 3-D videos to consumers who have an Nvidia 3D VisionPC.
“Nvidia has partnered with Fordela because their video management platform will enable us to scale our 3D content delivery to provide high-quality 3D entertainment to the rapidly expanding installed base of 3D Vision users,” said Phil Eisler, general manager, 3D Vision, Nvidia. “Fordela’s expertise and capability to integrate DRM and eCommerce will also reassure artists that they can safely sell their 3D movies, videos, photos and other 3D content on 3DVisionLive.com to this enthusiastic market of 3D consumers.”
“We are working closely with Nvidia to enable them to deliver an end-to-end 3D viewing experience utilizing the Fordela EVM,” said Ron Spector, CEO of Fordela Corporation. “By incorporating the latest 3D Vision and Microsoft’s Silverlight video player into our EVM platform, we can securely deliver 3D content which can be viewed with a Nvidia 3DVision PC.”
The site will remain in “beta” as the two companies continue to add more features and functionality in the coming weeks.
