DISH Network is offering several 3D movies to customers through its Dish Cinema On Demand service beginning this month.
The satellite service, which has no dedicated 3D channels yet, is presenting the 3D movies “Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore,” “The Last Airbender,” “A Christmas Carol” and “Step Up 3D” at a price of $5.99-$7.99 each in what DISH describes as “up to 1080p resolution.
Additional titles coming in January will be “Despicable Me,” “Shrek Forever After,” and “Saw: The Final Chapter.”
DISH has created a tie-in “Home for the Holidays Sweepstakes” through Dec. 31, for which ordering a qualifying movie or event from DISH Cinema is automatically entered to potentially win prizes like a Sony® 46-inch LED 3DTV, Sony Portable Satellite Navigation Systems, Sony Webbie HD Cameras, FOX Family Prize Packs, and more.
To received the 3D movies, in addition to a 3D TV and compatible 3D glasses, customers need a DISH Network ViP 922 HD DVR.
