“Piranha 3D” will be among the earliest 3D Blu-ray titles released to consumers on Jan. 11 and the first live-action 3D movie from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
The 89-minute Dimension Films over-the-top remake of the gore fest is priced at $39.95, five dollars more than the standard 2D Blu-ray and $11 more than the 2D DVD, yet will include far fewer bonus features than the standard Blu-ray edition — only an audio commentary and 10 deleted scenes. Missing from the 2D Blu-ray on the 3D version will be deleted scenes with optional commentary, deleted storyboard sequences, storyboard gallery, and a trailer & TV spots.
