Just as Britain’s ITV shows such as “Britain’s Got Talent” and “Coronation Street” are about to premiere in HiDef, BBC One announced that all of the channel’s programs, including such favorites as “EastEnders,” “Strictly Come Dancing,” and “The One Show,” will be shown in HiDef by the end of this year.
BBC One’s upgrade is in addition to the BBC HD channel that will increase from nine hours to 12 hours per day and continue to showcase all HiDef programming, according to Telegraph.
”HD is the future of television,” said Danielle Nagler, head of BBC HD. ”Audiences have already been enjoying many BBC One programmes in HD on our existing HD channel and the arrival of BBC One simulcast in HD will make it easier for them to find the programs they love in high definition.”
